I was so close that I went ahead and finished it the other day (Wednesday afton, my time). Seemed a little rushed at the very end, but interesting.
Got to thinking about the Encroachment ... and how thick a nebula would have to be to have a really adverse effect should the Solar System fly into one....
So where is everyone else? Let's RUMBLE!

I would not think that it would have to be too dense. Even if a all the material in it is particulate, which it wont be, it would probably be enough to affect the sun, cut off radiation from it, heat the atmosphere upon entry, etc. We are probably talking about something orders of magnitude wider than the solar system, or else it would just pass by. _________________ [size=200]The New & Improved Book Review Blog[/size]

I finished it a week and a half ago. can't say I understood it all... I'd have to re-read to get the whole story I think.
